William Bush ~ Founder and CEO
William Bush performed his first major commission in his early 20’s for the Jesuit Order at the Shrine of Our Lady of Martyrs located on the historical site in Auriesville, NY.
The work included the design, engineering and construction, all architectural drawing for building, furnishing and landscape for the Kateri Tekakwithia Chapel. Two years later the Jesuits commission him to design and build a Museum and all its furnishings.
This launches his career and company Bush Carpentry in design and build. A few years later Bush Millwork was founded, an architectural mill shop to fulfill the demand for his custom details such as trim, doors, cabinetry, stairs, hardware and furnishings.
Due to the failure of a finish and the lack of concern by the manufacture and the quality of the commissions coming in, it became apparent that a better finish was necessary.
In 1996 he developed the formula for Bush Oil for the protection and finishing of fine wood products. Bush Oil penetrates the wood and forms a durable grain defining finish with a rich luster that brings out the natural characteristics of the wood. This ultimately led to the forming of Bush Products.
Mr. Bush continues to fulfill commissions on residential and commercial properties and is conducting education seminars on design, prepping and finishing for schools, woodworking guilds and trade shows.
